Sapphire Reserve 2026 Hotel Credit Updates: What You Need to Know
As of January 1st 2026, Chase updated the hotel perks on the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠, giving cardholders more flexibility with existing credits and introducing an additional hotel credit for stays booked through Chase Travel℠. Here’s what you need to know.
What’s New for 2026
Chase Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders now get three hotel-related statement credit opportunities in 2026:
Up to $500 “The Edit by Chase Travel” hotel credit — two separate up to-$250 credits that you can now use any time during the calendar year on qualifying prepaid stays of two nights or more. No more biannual timing windows.
A one-time up to $250 hotel credit for select Chase Travel hotels — valid for a prepaid booking of at least two nights at certain partner brands, including IHG Hotels & Resorts, Montage Hotels & Resorts, Pendry Hotels & Resorts, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Virgin Hotels, Minor Hotels, and Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts. (For 2026 only)
Your existing $300 annual travel credit, which could be used towards a hotel to help offset a hotel stay booked through Chase Travel.
All together, that’s up to $1,050+ in hotel and travel credits if you strategically plan stays throughout the year.
Stack Strategy: Edit + Select Hotel Credit
Some hotels qualify for both the Edit credit and the new select-hotel credit. When you book a qualifying prepaid stay of two nights or more at one of these properties through Chase Travel, you can trigger:
up to $250 from The Edit credit
up to $250 from the new select-hotel credit
That’s $500 back on a single stay.
Example:
A stay at a Pendry property (Pendry Park City or Pendry Manhattan West) that’s in both The Edit and on the select-hotel list can trigger both credits. Remember, these stays must be booked in Chase Travel to trigger the credits.
(If you want a full list of stackable properties here is a resource that maps and filters hotels that qualify for both credits.)
A Budget Option: Stretch the $250
Not everyone wants luxury hotel stays. If your priority is getting the $250 select-hotel credit with minimal spend, you don’t have to stack and sometimes that will save your more cash or points out of pocket.
You can use the $250 on affordable brands. Some IHG properties (such as Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express locations) can be affordable enough that a two-night prepaid stay will total around $250 after taxes and fees.
In that case:
You use the entire one-time $250 select-hotel credit to cover most (or all) of the stay
You’re not stacking The Edit benefit, but you maximize value per dollar for travelers on a tighter budget
This is a solid option if you’re not focused on luxury perks and just want to get real, practical value out of this one-time 2026 credit.
What to Keep in Mind
All hotel credits require prepaid stays of at least two nights booked through Chase Travel.
Each “The Edit” credit is up to $250 per qualifying purchase, up to $500 annually.
The select-hotel $250 credit is only available in 2026 and can be used just once.
Credits post after the charge settles — they’re not instant. It can take several weeks to see them on your statement.
Consider booking off season when the cash price of these properties are lower if you want to spend less money or points out of pocket after you factor in the credits.
You can use Chase points on the portion of the hotel spend above the credit amount (and many are part of Points Boost!) plus you’ll generally still earn the hotel brand’s loyalty points and elite nights on the full stay.
Bottom Line
Whether you’re stacking credits at a luxury stay or using the $250 credit to offset a more budget-friendly hotel, 2026 is a great year to be intentional with how you use your Sapphire Reserve hotel benefits.
