Ideas For Redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards Points!

While earning a lot of points with a new credit card is great, getting to use them for an amazing vacation (or multiple vacations) every year is even better! If you’re curious to see just how far 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points can take you, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite ways to “spend” these rewards.

What is the easiest way to earn 75,000 points?! A credit card sign up bonus! These are some of my favorite cards for quickly acquiring Chase Ultimate Rewards points:

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card

Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card

*In order to get the most value out of your Chase Ultimate Rewards points, you or your spouse need a Chase card that allows you to TRANSFER your points. Those cards are the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve® and the Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card. Once you have a transferrable card, you can then move Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned from ANY card to a transferrable card so that you can transfer points and book with hotel and airline partners.

Hotels to Book with 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points:

It’s no secret that Hyatt is a points and miles sweet spot! Transfer your 90,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt and you could redeem:

4-5 nights at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Orlando (12,000-18,000 points/night)

3-4 nights at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa San Antonio (17,000-23,000 points/night)

1-2 nights at All-Inclusive Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos (for 2 people) (35,000 - 45,000 points/night)

4-5 nights at Hyatt House Anaheim Resort/Convention Center (12,000 - 18,000 points/night)

2-3 nights at Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo - (25,000 - 35,000 points/night)

Example dates: you can book 4 nights in a King Bed Forest View room worth $2,524.87 for just 84,000 Hyatt points (transferred from Chase!)

2-3 nights at the Grand Hyatt Kauai - (25,000-35,000 points per night)

Example dates: Instead of spending $2,642.47 for 3 nights in a king bed standard room, you can transfer 90,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points to Hyatt and book with 90,000 points instead!

All Hyatt bookings with points also cover any resort fees (excluding parking) so your stays truly are $0 when you pay with points!

*Marriott and IHG are also transfer partners of Chase but Hyatt is such a better value that I usually don’t recommend transferring points to Marriott or IHG.

Flights to Book with 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points:

Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred to several great Airline programs including Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Air France KLM Flying Blue.

Southwest Airlines: Southwest is such an amazing family points and miles sweet spot, especially when you have the Southwest Companion Pass! While Southwest does not have an award chart, they often run great sales and you can find excellent deals for flights domestically as well as to Mexico and parts of the Caribbean.

In this example below, a round-trip flight from Phoenix, Arizona to New York City would cost just 14,622 Southwest points and $11.20 in taxes.

United Airlines: You can often find “Saver Award” availability for as low as 6,000 United miles plus $5.60 in taxes and fees for a one-way flight.

The example below shows how just 14,600 miles and $11.20 can get you nonstop round-trip flights from New York City to Orlando.

Air France KLM Flying Blue: This can be a great option for flying from the United States to Europe! Flying Blue has different promotions each month from specific cities in the US or Canada to Europe. They also offer 25% off pricing (including flights booked with miles!) for children ages 2-11. Here is an example of a one-way direct flight with Air France from a mid-sized city like Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina to Paris for just 20,000 miles plus $65 in taxes:

Virgin Atlantic Flying Blue: This program is in an airline alliance with Delta Airlines, so these miles can be a great way to book domestic Delta flights. The example below shows how you could use 15,000 points plus $11.20 for taxes and fees to fly nonstop round-trip from Raleigh-Durham to New York City.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles can also be used for very low point flights to fly to Europe, although they will have higher taxes than if you booked with an American-based airline. The example below shows that you would just need 12,500 miles to fly on a direct flight from Orlando, Florida to London-Heathrow, although you will pay $152.80 in taxes.

Potential Other Uses of 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points:

This isn’t available year-round, but Virgin Voyages had a few promotions in 2022 and 2023 where you could book a 5-day balcony stateroom cruise for 2 people with just 80,000 Virgin Red points.  This included taxes, port fees, over a dozen options of specialty restaurants, Wi-fi and gratuities!  Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer at a 1:1 ratio to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, whose points can be used to book these Virgin Red promotions, so it is great to have points on hand to book a Virgin Atlantic cruise if a deal like this ever pops up again!

Bottom Line

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are lucrative, flexible and beginner friendly! You can book almost ANY kind of travel with Chase Ultimate Rewards points which is why I recommend earning Chase Ultimate Rewards points!
