How to Redeem Points for All-Inclusive Hyatt Resorts

One of the best ways to get a nearly free vacation is to use your points to book an all-inclusive vacation! Because it is so easy to rack up points for Hyatt stays, because Hyatt is such a good value for your points, and because Hyatt has nearly 100 affiliated all-inclusive resorts, I almost always recommend booking all-inclusive resorts through Hyatt! Keep reading for tips on booking all-inclusive resorts using credit card points and for some suggestions of popular all-inclusive Hyatt resorts to book with points.

How To Find Award Availability

While you can sometimes find last minute deals, I highly recommend booking popular all-inclusive resorts as soon as their calendars open up to booking, especially during peak times like Spring Break and Winter Break. For Hyatt, most properties open availability 13 months out. If you are having trouble finding availability, be sure you are searching for just 2 people and use tools like MaxMyPoint.com or StayWithPoints.com to search for availability and/or set up alerts to be notified when new rooms are available to book with points.

How to Find Availability for Families

Each room booked on points covers two people. I always suggest starting your search for 2 adults, even if you are looking to book for an entire family. Some of these properties will only allow you to book a room on points for 2 people online, even if the room allows for 4 people. If that’s the case, you can contact Hyatt to add up to 2 children to the reservation and they will let you know whether that can be done with additional points and/or with a cash rate per night per child.  The cash rate usually varies from $80-180/child per day, depending on the property.  I’ve found it can be helpful to contact Hyatt on Twitter (X) via Direct Message so you then have written confirmation of the cash rate required to add your children to the reservation.

Tip: If you want to pay all points for a family of 4, look into the point price of getting 2 rooms. Two rooms is often a similar point price as it is to add two children on points to your room, so you might as well get the 2 rooms and enjoy more space!

What if I Have More Than 2 Children?

For families of 5+, you will need to book 2 rooms and request connecting rooms for almost all all-inclusive Hyatt properties. Two rooms booked on points will cover 4 people, but to add more than 2 children to your reservation, you will either need to pay more points per day per child or pay the resorts cash rate per night per child. You can often add the 5th, 6th, 7th, etc member of your family for 12,500-20,000 points per night or the nightly cash rate, depending on the property.  (One exception is Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana which sometimes gives you the ability to sleep 5 people in their standard room.) I don’t know about you, but I always love the extra space when traveling so the extra room comes in handy when booking an all-inclusive resort this way. (Silver lining for needing to book 2 rooms!)

Below is a chart of how many additional Hyatt points per person per day you will need to add each an additional person to your room. (For Hyatt All-Inclusive properties)

Popular Hyatt All-Inclusive Resorts

Here are a few amazing ways to use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points and Hyatt points to book one of the nearly 100 Hyatt affiliated all-inclusive resorts.  (Transfer those Chase points to Hyatt!) While there are many different brands that are included such as Dreams, Secrets and Zoetry, Hyatt Zivas are very popular to book with points and are known to be very kid friendly.

Hyatt Ziva Resorts

Ziva Cancun - 42,000 - 58,000 Hyatt points/night for 2 people

This hotel has 8 unique restaurants and 3 lounges, as well as 6 bars on property. Included in your stay is access to three infinity pools, two hot tubs, kayaking, paddleboards, a world-class fitness center, and yoga overlooking the ocean. There is also a Teens Lounge and Club with Virtual Reality Simulators, and a KidZ Club with supervised pool games, arts and crafts, and video games.

My family visited Hyatt Ziva Cancun in 2023 and loved our stay! We paid the point price for 2 rooms and then paid the child cash rate for our 3rd child, which was $110/night at the time.  We chose to call Hyatt and book this stay over the phone vs booking online. As a family of five needing two rooms, this was the biggest points splurge we’ve made.  We paid the standard rate which as the time was 25,000 points per room + $110 per night, but we had such a great time and are so glad we went! If we had paid cash for all five of us, we would have paid $1,496 PER NIGHT!

Hyatt Points Calendar

Hyatt publishes a Points Calendar that shows you how many points you need to book a night at any of their properties. These rates show Off-Peak, Standard, or the highest aka Peak point pricing. You can find the Points Calendar when looking at any property on the Hyatt website.

A unique feature of the Points Calendar for all-inclusive resorts is that Hyatt usually lists the point pricing for a variety of room types and people per room.

There are SO many all-inclusive options for couples, girls trips, and families that can be booked with points!
