Updated Chase Sapphire Eligibility Rules

Chase Sapphire eligibility rules just got simpler!

Chase has updated how welcome bonus eligibility works for the Sapphire family of cards. Going forward, you can earn a welcome bonus once per Sapphire card, as long as youโ€™ve never received a bonus on that specific card before.

That means if you currently have one Sapphire card โ€” like the Chase Sapphire Preferredยฎ Card โ€” but youโ€™ve never earned the welcome bonus on the Chase Sapphire Reserveยฎ, you may now be eligible for that bonus!

According to Chase, the goal of this update is to make premium card eligibility rules easier to understand and more straightforward for cardmembers.

Bottom line

Eligibility is now tracked by each Sapphire card individually. That means if you applied for the Sapphire Reserve after its big benefits refresh last summer and were denied or told you werenโ€™t eligible, it might be worth applying again! โ€” especially with itโ€™s highest-ever points welcome offer right now!

And yes, Iโ€™ll fully admit my bias here ๐Ÿ˜‚ I love the Chase Sapphire cards and currently have all three in my wallet!

As always, I appreciate it so much when you use my credit card affiliate links to apply for a new credit card! It supports my small business at no cost to you!
