The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is my favorite luxury/premium credit card and one that I will keep in my wallet year after year!

Here is everything you need to know:

When you open a Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, you will earn 75,000 Venture Miles after spending $4,000 in the first three months. Venture Miles are very flexible and can be redeemed in the travel portal, can be transferred to transfer partners, or can be used to erase travel purchases.

The annual fee on this card is $395, but don’t let that scare you away right off the bat! Here is why this is one of the few credit cards with annual fees that I think is worth keeping long term if you use all of the benefits.

Every year (including the year you apply for the card) you get a $300 annual travel credit. This means if you purchase any travel that is $300 or more in the Capital One travel portal with your Venture X card, you will automatically be reimbursed $300 in the form of a statement credit. (It kind of looks like a return on your credit card statement.) On top of that, you also get 10,000 points every year on your account anniversary. This is worth $100 in travel if you use it to erase a travel purchase and it’s often worth even more than that if you transfer your points to transfer partners.

So the $300 travel credit and 10,000 anniversary miles are worth at least $400 in travel every year while the annual fee is just $395. But on top of that, you also get some awesome luxury perks!

Airport Lounge Access

The Venture X comes with complimentary access for you and two guests to Capital One, Plaza Premium, and Priority Pass Lounges. You can search for lounges that are eligible here.

In order to access Priority pass Lounges, you have to enroll in Priority Pass after you get your Venture X card. Enroll here.

To enter Capital One Lounges and Plaza Premium Lounges, just show your Venture X card.

Airport Lounge Family Travel Tip

You can add up to 4 authorized users of ANY age for free.

Assuming you are responsible with your credit cards and pay your card off in full and on time every single month, a popular tip for this card is to add your child as an authorized user. Each card (including authorized user cards) will get three people total into the lounges.

You need to be over 18 to sign up for Priority Pass, however the name on the card does not need to match the name on the priority pass membership. You can use your child’s Venture X card to sign your spouse up for their own Priority Pass!

Free TSA Precheck/ Global Entry

When you pay for your TSA Precheck or Global Entry membership with your Venture X Card, you will get a statement credit up to $100 every 4 years!

Hertz President’s Circle Status

You get automatic Hertz President’s Circle Status with the Venture X that includes guaranteed upgrades, free additional drivers, widest selection of vehicles, and more!

Upon enrollment, accessible through the Capital One website or mobile app, eligible cardholders will remain at upgraded status level through December 31, 2024. Please note, enrolling through the normal Hertz Gold Plus Rewards enrollment process (e.g. at Hertz.com) will not automatically detect a cardholder as being eligible for the program and cardholders will not be automatically upgraded to the applicable status tier.
