Ultimate Guide to the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is one of my favorite luxury/premium credit card and one that I will keep in my wallet year after year! Venture Miles are some of the most flexible points out there. You can redeem them through the Capital One travel portal, transfer them to airline and hotel partners for even higher value, or use them to cover travel purchases right off your statement.

The Venture X does have a $395 annual fee — but don’t let that scare you off! This is one of the rare cards where the value you get easily outweighs the cost if you take advantage of the benefits.

Each year (starting your very first year), you’ll receive a $300 annual travel credit to use on bookings made through the Capital One Travel portal.

On top of that, you’ll earn 10,000 bonus miles each year on your account anniversary. These miles are worth at least $100 when used to cover travel purchases — and potentially much more if you transfer them to partners.

So even just those two perks — the $300 travel credit and 10,000 anniversary miles — are worth at least $400 in travel every year, while the annual fee is only $395. And that’s before factoring in all the other premium perks that make this card a true standout.

Venture X Business Card

A note about The Venture X Business Card: essentially it has the same exact benefits and perks as the personal Venture X credit card! The biggest difference is the welcome offer is MUCH higher and the minimum spend is MUCH higher! If you can meet this minimum spend, I HIGHLY recommend considering the Venture X Business Card! You can hold both the Venture X and Venture X Business Card at the same time, but need to space applications at least 6 months apart.

Category Multipliers

Earn 10x miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, and 5x miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel. Earn 2x miles on all other purchases.

Airport Lounge Access

The Venture Xcomes with complimentary access to Capital One, Plaza Premium, and Priority Pass Lounges. You can search for lounges that are eligible here.

In order to access Priority pass Lounges, you have to enroll in Priority Pass after you get your Venture X card. Enroll here.

To enter Capital One Lounges and Plaza Premium Lounges, just show your Venture X card.

Free TSA Precheck/ Global Entry

When you pay for your TSA Precheck or Global Entry membership with your Venture X Card, you will get a statement credit up to $120 every 4 years!

Hertz President’s Circle Status

You get automatic Hertz President’s Circle Status with the Venture that includes upgrades, free additional drivers, widest selection of vehicles, and more!

Please note, enrolling through the normal Hertz Gold Plus Rewards enrollment process (e.g. at Hertz.com) will not automatically detect a cardholder as being eligible for the program and cardholders will not be automatically upgraded to the applicable status tier. Additional terms apply.

Insurances and Protections

The Venture X also comes with cell phone protection, travel accident insurance, rental car insurance, lost luggage reimbursement and more!

No Foreign Transaction Fees

This card comes with me on all of our international travel because of this!

Botton Line

I can’t recommend the Capital One Venture X enough! I take mine on all of my international travel because of it has no foreign transaction fees, 2x on all purchases and travel protections are great! If you will be spending at least $395 in travel a year anyways, this annual fee pays for itself!
