Capital One Transfer Partner Sweet Spots
Capital One Venture Miles can help you redeem travel expenses in multiple ways! While covering travel purchases may be the most beginner friendly way to use Venture miles, transferring these miles to Capital One’s many transfer partners is often where you will get the most value! You can transfer your Capital One Miles at a 1:1 ratio meaning 1 Capital One Venture Miles will turn into 1 hotel or airline partner point when transferred.
(A nice perk with Capital One is that they usually release your miles just 1-3 days after making a purchase while many other banks give you your points you’ve accumulated AFTER your bank statement closes.)
The two main cards I recommend from Capital One are the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. Both reward you with 2 miles per every $1 spent, which allows you to accumulate points quickly!
Capital One Airline Transfer Partner Sweet Spots
Note about Capital One Transfer Parters: I do not think these transfer partners are as beginner friendly or as recognizable as Chase’s transfer partners. Chase has transfer partners like Hyatt, Southwest, United, and more! HOWEVER, that’s not to say that you can’t learn and use these amazing transfer partners!
We have an Airline Alliance Masterclass by Travel Reward University that goes over how to find and book these deals in more detail! Click here for more details!
The best sweet spot for flights within the United States (though availability can be tricky to find) is by using the Turkish Miles & Smiles program to fly on United Airlines. These flights cost just 7,500 miles each way for economy flights throughout all the 50 United States.
One of my favorite transfer partners for domestic flights is Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Flying Blue. These programs are in a flight alliance with Delta Airlines and you can often find flights on Delta airplanes for much less points when booked through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club or Flying Blue instead of Delta.
If you’re looking to fly on an American Airlines flight, you can often find much cheaper options by booking through British Airways instead. This is because British Airways award pricing is based on a distance-based award chart. This means that shorter flights on American Airlines can be a great value, as low as 8,500 miles one-way.
The full list of airline transfer partners for Capital One that transfer at a 1:1 ratio is:
Aeromexico Club Premier
Air Canada - Aeroplan
Cathay Pacific - Asia Miles
Avianca LifeMiles
British Airways Executive Club
Choice Privileges
Emirates Skywards
Etihad Guest
Finnair Plus
Flying Blue
Qantas Frequent Flyer
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
TAP Miles&Go
Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
Virgin Red
Wyndham Rewards
Capital One also transfers at a 2:1.5 transfer ratio to EVA Air - Infinity MileageLands. This means that 1,000 Capital One Miles transferred to EVA Air will give you 750 miles with EVA Air.
Capital One Hotel Transfer Partner Sweet Spots
Capital One also has a few hotel transfer partners. Capital One Miles transferred to Choice Privileges and Wyndham Rewards will transfer at a 1:1 ratio, while Capital One miles transferred to ALL - Accor Live Limitless transfer at a 2:1 ratio so 1,000 Capital One Miles will turn into 500 ALL - Accor Live Limitless points.
While Wyndham Rewards includes Wyndham hotels, they also have a partnership with Vacasa vacation rentals which can be an extremely valuable transfer partner. These vacation homes can be booked for as low as 15,000 points per night for 1-bedroom homes. Generally this works for homes that would cost $350 or less per night, including taxes. If you’d like a 2-bedroom home, you can book for 30,000 points per night and a 3-bedroom home can be booked for 45,000 points per night. These rates are inclusive and you will not have to pay a separate cleaning fee. If you want to see more about how to book a Vacasa vacation rental, click here!
Choice Privileges gives you opportunities to book with Choice Hotels which includes brands like Comfort Inn, Clarion, Cambria, the Radisson Collection, and the highly tiered Ascend Hotels.
Bottom Line
There are a lot of great ways to redeem your Capital One miles and transferring your points will give you a lot more travel value than erasing your travel expenses.
